Cable
The construction and the cable diameter are defined in the engineering stage of the facilities. In a short canopy less than 200 meters, the PRCA generally recommends using a 3/8” 7x19 galvanized steel cable. However, some short zip lines can generate more tension than others of a much higher length.
The black wire rope is usually 8% more resistant than galvanized steel cables. However, for several practical reasons it is not recommended for use on zip lines.
Ascensacion, conducts rupture tests (Video ) in a private laboratory facility in cases where the calculated tension is equal to or less than a safety factor of 6. These tests are meant to verify that the cable is within our safety standards and that the point of rupture exceeds the manufacturer’s specifications. On top of that, in the process of tensioning the cable, we double-check the calculated tension with a dynamometer unit, in order to verify all of our calculations.

Hardware
No facility can be safe without proper attachment techniques. We exclusively use Crosby’s rigging hardware in all of our designs. Crosby is the only American brand to offer certifications and individual tests on all its products.
The Most Important
Finally, we truly believe that the most important norms of all are integrity, honesty and ethics. We look forward to having the opportunity to show you how strictly we adhere to these norms.
